Update on my Laptop

From Engadget;
There’s good news this morning for those of you stuck in the Dell XPS M1330 build queue. After weeks of delay, Dell has finally kicked it into large-scale production and expect M1330 systems to ship in all regions “beginning this week.” Unfortunately, this update comes a tad late for those of you who felt […]

The Dark Knight

Bruce: “I knew the mob wouldn’t go down without a fight. But this is different. They crossed the line.”Alfred: “You crossed the line first, sir. You hammered them. And in their desperation, they turned to a man they didn’t fully understand. Some men aren’t looking for anything logical. They can’t be bought, bullied, reasoned, […]

Again with the privacy.

I was wondering if anybody took any notice of Google’s pledge last week to shorten the life span of the cookies its leaves on users’ system to two years (formally expiring in 2038) and it will anonymise user logs after 18 months.
The above pledge does sound rather good but the part I believed everybody missed […]

A Security Database Problem

This post is in connection with Curly’s article in which the orginal story can be found at the Chronicle ;
An organisation may have purchased the best security technologies that money can buy, trained their people so well that they lock up all their secrets before going home at night, and hired building guards from the best security firm […]

Pownced

This morning I received an invitation for Pownce (wiki) from John Biggs over at Crunchgear for whom I’m very grateful for. I’ve been dying with anticipation to get my grubby little hands on Pownce for a while now.
I’ll review the site sometime in the next coming week

Using Google Services

While my parents are away I have been giving the sole task to complete one job, take the car for it’s M.O.T. Now I don’t how many of my readers out there have taken a car for an M.O.T because its a very manly affair. It consists of you calling other men ‘mate’ and just generally […]

To My Parents

For my parents who today are celebrating their 25th Wedding Anniversary.

More signs of life for Rocktober

Mrs Springsteen has been in Europe the past week, doing press for her upcoming Play It as It Lays LP (her album doesn’t drop until September 4, but when everybody’s on vacation in August, you’ve gotta get this stuff done in July). Yesterday in Rome she spoke with journalist Niccolo Borella for Agr, who tells us […]

The wait is over…

The wait was finally over this morning as thousands of Harry Potter fans got their hands on copies of the seventh and final book.
Thousands of people queued at book shops and supermarkets around the country, waiting for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to go on sale at midnight.
I have no desire to read Harry […]

Harold & Vicky

Something about the below image made me very proud :

Little Britain characters including Vicky Pollard have invaded Ramsay Street for Little Britain Down Under, which is on BBC One on 27 July. Comic creations Lou and Andy also appeared in scenes for Neighbours while they were there. Photo: Mike Christie (via)

Harry Potter and the Price Cut of ASDA Ban

The war still rages over the half blood prince, it seems after all the trouble ASDA has had its still going to put its two fingers up to Bloomsbury. If you don’t know the story ASDA had accused Bloomsbury of “blatant profiteering” in a press release and in an interview with BBC Radio Five Live. Bloomsbury then […]
