I pondered with writing a review of ‘Magic’ but why ?, I’m biased, and Love’ d it. I’d admit like some other Springsteen albums it takes time to get used too, but once its in your head you’ll be sold.
Hears some quick thoughts;
- Lyrically I love Gypsy Biker, Long Walk Home and Last to Die.
- I can’t understand what Devils Arcade is about, but still it’s a cracking tune.
- I really enjoy the introduction to Your Own Worst Enemy.
I’m looking forward to seeing Bruce Live in Concert in December because some of his vocal techniques used in this album sound peculiar, now peculiar isn’t a bad thing, just strange to Springsteen. (Although I do wonder if its this advance copy I have heard).
You’ll be pleased to know that old Bruce still shines on through though.
