Since the BBC iPlayer has been updated I been a big fan and a regular user, I just love watching the shows when I want to watch them. Therefore the news that they’ll soon be serving up content to Apple’s iPhone and Touch is a welcomed add on. Now I’ve been hard on the iPlayer in the past, especially the old program which was terrible and clunky to use, but this newer in browser player is certainly pushing all the right buttons. Although I do wonder how many users actually download the television shows and not choose to steam them instantly. I understand the argument for downloading videos, but seriously who can be bothered ?

Picture the scene, its 10 years ago and every Saturday evening you watch a television program. Now this wasn’t like any other T.V show you used to watch, this show was Gladiators. For those of you who are British, this is a familiar show, guess at one stage you would have even watched it (may just for JET?). Those of you unaware of “Gladiators” the shows consists of members of the public pitched against “gladiators” in physical games and tasks. Now as a 10 year old this was like nothing you had every seen, average people taking on this muscle men with pantomime like audiences booing at the bad guys, especially “Wolf“

So what of it, the show ended in 2002, Ulrika Johnson went off sleeping with famous football managers and Wolf works in McDonalds. But wait one second, the show has nostalgia, how could we capitalise on this?

By bringing it back silly …

I honestly hate the show now, I despise it in fact, but I remember watching it as a child and remembering the excitement it used to bring. Lets hope it can do it again for some young kids out there !

Today in between lectures I went browsing the shops in town and found Curb your Enthusiasm box set series 1 - 5 for £ 31 bargain (it’s £67.98 on Amazon).

I’ve just finished playing with the beta version  of Joost, early indications are good, although I’m still not convinced by the content they have available.

I personally like interface, it seems to work. Although for lower spec computers they may find it quite difficult.

Just remember it’s still in beta.

Nobody told me that the new series of Curb Your Enthusiasm aired in the states last night, for some reason I thought season five was the last ever season. When it comes to American comedy I’ve seen nothing better than this and Frasier, Larry David is an absolute comedy genius.

Just listen to plot for the first episode of series six;

Cheryl and Larry adopt a black family named “The Blacks” to live in their house after a hurricane destroys their home.

You know for Larry it will all end in tragedy, anyway I’m all hooked up and the incoming episode will be watched very soon.

Now I want to see Lou and Andy with Karl Kennedy, these episodes of Neighbours will also be great to watch out for. Its a shame I need to wait 6 months or so until the episodes are aired in the UK.

According to reports Over the weekend, 7-Eleven Inc. turned a dozen stores into Kwik-E-Marts, which of course is the fictional convenience stores of “The Simpson’s”. It wasn’t just the stores that happened to have a burst of new life, products have been introduced to help with the marketing campaign like Buzz Cola, Krusty O’s cereal and Squishees, the slushy drink knockoff of Slurpees.

Why couldn’t they do this to Londis over here in the UK ?, you can find more images of the Simpson takeover at this person’s Flickr account.

From now on I won’t believe a single thing I read on the Internet. An example being Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. The season finale aired last Thursday in America with a guest appearance from Bruce Springsteen with the show titled after a line from his song ‘ Thunder Road ‘.

On flicking through the episode I’ve seen no sign of Springsteen, the show is also named something completely different.

God Damn Internet Web and its lies.
