Wings On Some Wheels

He attacked everything in life with a mix of extraordinary genius and naive incompetence, and it was often difficult to tell which was which.

Don’t die my little XPS!

I strolled out of bed this morning well after nine (its IMG_0136my late start day) switched on my laptop and proceeded to the bathroom. On my return to the laptop something was wrong, the screen was filled with vertical different colour lines then they all came together to form a bright white display (very creepy). Something was a foot, so like any other person I switched the damn thing off. That’s all I needed I thought, switched it back on, the same things is happening again. Buggar!

Not to worry I’ll phone Dell, brilliant customer service although I had to wait 10 minutes on hold before anybody would speak to me. Never mind, after speaking to the kind gentleman on the phone, he worked out it was either the display or the graphics card. After trying run some form of diagnosis (from some strange keyboard command), he confirmed its was one or the other. Your an XPS customer, and you get next day business day support he replied, very good I thought but tomorrow is Saturday :( , what goods that to me?

Anyway an engineer is coming on Monday to deal with the problem, but that isn’t the end of the problem…

I’ve just tried the damn thing again and now its decided to work, I don’t know why and I don’t want to switch it off (I’ve got work to do). I’ll see how it plays up until Sunday night then phone them back to confirm if I still want the engineer to call.

Got to thank Dell, there on the Ball.

Fingers crossed too for this little XPS!
