Wings On Some Wheels

He attacked everything in life with a mix of extraordinary genius and naive incompetence, and it was often difficult to tell which was which.

30th Anniversary of Winterland

To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of ‘Prodigal Son At Winterland, San Francisco, CA’ by Bruce Springsteen on the 15th December 1978 -  This evening I decided to listen to the whole concert in full. Many argue this performance is his greatest ever, I’m still undecided, have a listen and see what you think!

The Wrestler

Starting today Fox searchlight is sending out its first trailer for ‘The Wrestler’ Their mission: to make filmgoers want to see a movie that looks very male. Mickey Rourke plays a down-on-his-luck, aging wrestler facing the end of his career who suddenly needs to reach out to his daughter, poignantly played by Evan Rachel Wood, [...]

Remembering Tim Russert

At yesterdays televised memorial service for Tim Russert, Luke’s "Uncle Tony" (Russert’s brother-in-law) performed a beautiful acoustic "Born to Run" in tribute. How do you follow that? Well, Luke and Tom Brokaw had "a little surprise," which Brokaw introduced: "This was the one guest that Tim was never able to persuade to appear on Meet [...]

‘The Boss’ on your iPOD ‘Literally’

Just imagine this, thanks Red Herring

Is Bruce Springsteen about to follow the example of his good pal Bono and get his own Special Edition iPod?
Even, as he once joked, he wouldn’t take the money.
Dunno. The ones who would know, of course, are Springsteen; Apple CEO Steve Jobs and Jon Landau, Springsteen’s longtime manager and record [...]

Trapped

I’m quite excited to see Springsteen has added ‘Trapped’, ‘Fire’ and ‘Murder Incorporated’ to his 2008 set list. Although, I know its pot luck when I see him in Cardiff on the 14th June.
If you haven’t heard Trapped its well worth listening too!

Springsteen – Fire

Here is a song called Fire which Springsteen originally wrote for his idol Elvis Presley – he sent him a demo of the track in 1977, but Elvis died before he could record it. It was eventually a Number 2 US hit for the Pointer Sisters, in 1978.
Excellent Stuff!
